I would hope that the woman would have to prove without a doubt that the man had an intention to harm her. If he didn't intend it, which it seems he clearly did not, then given the outstanding circumstance in which she was going to BURN TO DEATH, any reasonable jury would be on his side. I MEAN, COME ON RIGHT? This world is crazy. I’m curious what the laws are surrounding this issue! I just wanted to briefly thank you all for reading. This post (one that I feel very strongly about) has been my most read post to date. This is encouraging in that it shows the level of awareness of injustice around the world. I hope that the article has nudged you over the threshold of awareness and into the great unknown of involvement. I say unknown with a dual meaning -- we don't know what involvement will mean for each of us personally, but we also do not know what blessings we will receive in the process of being involved. I was inspired to get involved by something that Gary Haugen (President of IJM) said in the Q&A session at the 2008 Willow Creek Leadership Summit -- "Doing God's will hurts. It hurt Christ to make the ultimate sacrifice for humankind and it will hurt us to follow his example." This hurt is a necessary one. With the Grace of God it will reduce the suffering of others all over the earth. Finally, I opened comments on this blog today. (I didn't realize it, but the default setting requires prior approval before a comment can be posted.) I have changed that setting and look forward to reading your thoughts on my future posts.
